Yellowstone

After the family reunion we went to Yellowstone. We had some pretty good luck while in Yellowstone; we were able to see many things that we have wanted to see in the past, but have not had the opportunity to see. The first neat thing we saw was the erruption of Grand Geyser. It is found in the same area as Old Faithful, but isn't as famous as Old Faithful because it only erupts about every 7-15 hours.
The neat thing about Grand Geyser is that it is the tallest predictable geyser in the world. We also saw 9 bears one evening as we were driving around! That was awesome, we have always wanted to see a bear up there, but have had no luck in the past. This time we saw quite a bunch of them. We also saw mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and either a wolf or coyote. We have never seen the mountain goats, bighorn sheep, or a wolf before either.
This is the first bear that we saw, a nice big grizzly. It was really near to the road as well.
This is a cub that we saw up in a tree. The mother was down below in the grass on the ground.
We had a lot of fun together in Yellowstone, and that was just the first part of our vacation. Our vacation was definitely off to a good start.

Reunion

Well looks like it has been forever since we posted anything. There are probably tons of things I could post. So I guess I will just start with the reunion, and hopefully slowly work my way up from there. Below is a picture of the cabin we stayed in. Other than getting kids to bed at night with all of the excitement, it was great. It is a good thing we were in a cabin up there, because the mosquito were terrible, (As you can see from a picture of Savannah). It looks like she bonked her head in this picture, but actually it is mosquito bites. Aren't Savannah and Olivia so cute!Hey! Look at all of that hair Olivia has!! ...Okay, so she really still doesn't have much at all, but if you look at the pictures from her one year birthday party, it is a lot more hair than she had back then! And it has gotten curly, definitely taking after Elise for that.

Olivia's 1st Birthday!!!

This last Sunday we celebrated Olivia's 1st Birthday. I know, it is amazing that she is old enough to be having her 1st birthday. Above, Olivia is just relaxing waiting for her party to start (not that she really knows what is going on).

Olivia did end up opening a few presents by herself, with some encouragement from mom, dad, and Savannah. We were just lucky that Grandpa Larsen brought some skittles, so Savannah would let Olivia try and open some of her gifts.

Here is Olivia after eating a little bit of her cake. Not too messy. Grandma Petroff and mom are putting ribbons in her hair.

Here is Olivia's Birthday cake. This is before it started to melt.

Our New Dogs

Yes, we did get us a dog. Not just one dog, but two. We are a little crazy, however, I think that they are wonderful dogs. We have started training them and they are learning fast. The one on the left is Anubis, he is our playful male dog. He loves to play fetch and will make a good hunting dog. The one on the right is Isis, she is our sweet, lovable female, who follows Anubis everywhere. They are both purebred black labs. Usually we keep the dogs outside, however, I let them in to so I could take there picture and I didn't want to go out in the cold.

Tom's Birthday

It is Tom's birthday. He is twenty eight years old (man, he is getting old). Here we are decorating Twinkies. The Twinkies are Tom's birthday cake. Not the best birthday cake, but they were fun to decorate. This one is Tom's a car. Savannah had fun with hers. I am not sure what it is suppose to be, however Savannah calls it a bus.
This one is mine. It is a very beautiful church.

President Kimball's House

This is the house where President Spencer W. Kimball grew up. He grew up down here in Thatcher, Arizona.

Scorpions

Here are some pictures of some scorpions we found. Sorry the images are so blurry, however, you can still see about how big they are. The one below is one that I found in the house we are living in. Scary! At least we are going home soon, that way we won't have any more encounters. This scorpian is one that Tom found by his desk at work.

Grand Canyon & Thanksgiving

After going to Sedona, we went to the Grand Canyon. It was amazing. Someday we would like to go back and hike down into the Canyon. We didn't do alot of hiking this time because it was freezing cold. I was wishing I had brought a coat down to Arizona, instead of just a jacket. Below you can see the Grand Canyon crack through the landscape.
Here Savannah and Olivia are bundled up and, of course, Tom is in shorts. He doesn't feel cold at all. Just kidding. He is, amazingly, just a little cold.
Here Savannah is playing with Ginny at my Aunt Brenda's house on Thanksgiving. Savannah and Olivia had a blast. There were alot of little cousins to play with. Oh yeah, Savannah is wearing a doll dress. She is so silly.
Olivia and Savannah are playing under the stairs, in a play closet of kids.

Sedona Arizona

On our way up to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, we stopped in Sedona, Arizona, to see the beautiful red rock canyons they have. Sedona is a very pretty town, however, it is a tourist trap like Jackson Hole, Wyoming. There is one thing that we didn't do while we where in Sedona, and that is ride the natural rock water slide they have there. It would have been to cold to get wet. Below is an example of the red rock stones they have all over Sedona.
Here is Savannah posing for her photo:
Here we are walking on one of the trails in Sedona:
Olivia is trying to do a puzzle. She didn't get very far. :)
This is a church in Sedona. They don't use it for services, it is just for visiters to come and see.
